On May 9, at 16։03 an emergency call was received to Crisis Management National Center that smoke had been noticed from the roof of the Rio Mall shopping and entertainment center of Yerevan city.

Six fire units, one autoladder from the Fire and Rescue Squads of Yerevan Rescue Department, the operative group from Crisis Management National Center, the groups on duty from Medical Care Provision Department and Management Division for Firefighting and Rescue Activities of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene. 

It turned out that a fire broke out on the roof of the center.

The rescuers evacuated 100 citizens.

The fire was localized at 16:47 and extinguished at 17:02. The insulating layer of the roof lining (about 7 square meters), constructions and glass were damaged. The firefighters carried out demolition and removal activities on the damaged part of the roof.
