Fire on Kurghinyan Street

On May 3, at 03:38 an emergency call was received at the 112 Operational Management Center of the MIA reporting that there was a fire in one of the buildings on Kurghinyan Street in Yerevan.

Four fire-rescue units and an autoladder from the Fire and Rescue Squads of the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA, the duty groups of Management Division for Firefighting and Rescue Activities and the Psychological Support and Medical Provision Department, were dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that the fire broke out in one of the apartments on the 6th floor.

The fire was localized at 04:29 and extinguished at 04:40. The living room, kitchen, corridor and balcony were burnt along with their contents, and two rooms were damaged by heat. The window frames of one of the apartments on the 7th floor were also heat-damaged.

Rescuers evacuated 20 residents, 4 of whom were hospitalized.

As a result of the fire, debris that fell caused damage to a parked Nissan vehicle near the building.

Thanks to the operative actions of the firefighters, the spread of the fire was prevented.
