Fire on Azatutyan Avenue was extinguished: firefighters prevented the spread of the fire to adjacent buildings

On March 25, at 19:12, an emergency call was received at 112 Operational Management Center of the MIA that a fire had broken out in a building on Azatutyan Avenue in Yerevan city.

By "1 BIS" degree of fire complexity, four fire units and one autoladder from the Fire and Rescue Squads, the duty group of the Management Division for Firefighting and Rescue Activities of Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that the fire broke out in a non-operational four-story building of the former "Kanaz" cultural center, located at 19 Azatutyan Avenue in Yerevan city.

Due to the complexity of the fire, a "No. 3" call was announced: eight fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squads, two water tankers of Yerevan Rescue Department and the duty group of the Psychological Assistance and Medical Care Provision Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA were dispatched to the scene. 

The fire was localized at 21:11 and extinguished at 23:44.

The firefighters succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to the first floor of the building and to adjacent residential buildings. Alongside firefighting operations, the firefighters carried out the evacuation of residents from hazardous areas of the neighboring residential buildings to safety.

Also involved on-site were Police Patrol Service units, Armenian Electric Networks and gas emergency service personnel, ambulance brigades, as well as 4 water tankers from the Yerevan Municipality.
