On March 17, 2025, at 16:46, a report was received that fire had broken out at the administrative border of Lusadzor-Getahovit villages. The prompt response was organized and four fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Tavush Regional Department, one operative group and personnel from the Collective Center of Civil Protection Forces of the Civil Protection Department of the Rescue Service of MIA were dispatched to the scene.

The gathering of personnel was announced at the Rescue Service of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Aerial reconnaissance was conducted at the scene using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), providing a comprehensive and clear view of the spread of the fire and focal points.

It turned out that approximately 30 ha of vegetation were burning in two separate hearths. The firefighting operations were concentrated in two main areas such as the hilltop and the foothill where intensive and coordinated operations were carried out to prevent the fire from spreading.

At the same time, in more favorable and accessible areas where the terrain allowed, high-mobility firefighting equipment was utilized.

80 rescuers from the Center for Carrying out Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Aragatsotn, Shirak, Vayots Dzor Regional and Yerevan Rescue Departments in order to effectively combat the fire, the response was also involved.

The firefighting activities were monitored at the scene by the Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA, r/s Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan and the Deputy Directors.
