On May 22, at 18:27 an emergency call was received to Syunik Regional Crisis Management Center that car had been on fire near the "Khustup" bakery in Kapan town.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that a gas leak occurred in “Volkswagen” car, as a result fire caught in the salon, and then the car crashed into parked “Hyundai” and “Opel” cars.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver and passenger of “Volkswagen” car had been taken to a medical center.

The fire was localized at 18:42 and extinguished at 18:50. The salon of “Volkswagen” car was partially burnt.

The rescuers disconnected the automotive battery of “Volkswagen” car, stopped the gas leak and performed cooling and road washing activities.
