On January 17, at 09։08 an emergency call was received to Kotyak Regional Crisis Management Center that smoke had noticed from the 5th and 6th floors of a high-rise building near "Eternal Fire" monument in Abovyan town.

Two fire units and autoladder from the Fire and Rescue Squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA was dispatched to the scene.

It turned out that the fire broke out in one of the buildings located in the 1st lane of August 23rd Street. Firefighters evacuated 30 citizens from the building.

The fire was localized at 09:53 and extinguished at 10:09. The suspended plastic ceilings in the corridors of the building (about 156 square meters), plastic doors, the ventilation system in the parking lot and electrical cables were burnt.
