Events on “Communication risks during disasters and mass inflows” were held in Goris and Yeghegnadzor
The Armenian Red Cross Society and the Office of the UNHCR organized discussions on “Communication risks during disasters and mass inflows” with the aim of increasing the communication skills of residents in emergency situations and strengthening the preparedness of state and local self-government bodies in Goris and Yeghegnadzor on May 20.
The rescuers presented on “Preparation for natural and man-made disasters”, touching upon the rules of conduct and response mechanisms.
The Migration and Citizenship Service employees addressed migration processes and approaches to managing possible inflows. The scenario situations were presented and options for solutions were discussed.
The scope of risks specific to communities was also discussed: special attention was paid to the peculiarities of emergency situations management in that context. The Ministry of Internal Affairs employees shared their experience and answered the participants’ questions.
The events were implemented within the framework of "Preparedness and response to forced inflow situations" program.
