The effective organization of civil protection is a key component in enhancing the security and defense capability of the state. The seamless implementation of this process requires coordination, the ability of public and private structures to respond swiftly and targeted cooperation. The goal was to ensure the safety of citizens and minimize human and material losses.

On March 3, in honor of World Civil Protection Day, the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a special tactical demonstration exercise on "Organization and implementation of civil protection measures in case of an enemy attack".

The exercise followed a pre-established scenario, according to which enemy air forces bombed and damaged buildings and utility-energy systems, fire hearths, collapses and casualties.

After arriving at the scene of a simulated accidents, the RS personnel promptly put the entire arsenal into action. The fire units conducted reconnaissance, during which unexploded ordnance was discovered. To neutralize the threat, the area was immediately blocked off.

The teams of emergency services also responded quickly, restoring the damaged utility and energy system of the building. The firefighting was implemented, a smoke-stricken person was evacuated and moved to an ambulance, stuck employees was pulled out with rescue ropes, as well as a casualty was pulled out of a damaged car. At the end of the training exercise, the lead presented the results, as well as gave instructions on eliminating shortcomings.

The message of the day was a reminder of the importance of civil protection measures. In this context, training exercises, lectures, seminars and open classes were aimed at disaster risk reduction, in particular, increasing public awareness and preparedness, as well as strengthening cooperation between the state administration system, local self-government bodies and organizations.

The continuous development of the civil defense system and strengthening of its capabilities is a priority of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs. The latest training exercise was yet another opportunity to emphasize the importance of civil protection measures.
