Effective civil defense on the agenda: two-stage exercise in Lori province
On June 27, the Director of RS- Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan visited Lori Regional Rescue Department.
As part of the visit, a working discussion was held with the participation of the leadership of regional departments and heads of subdivisions.
Deputy Minister presented the priorities of the Rescue Service, highlighted existing issues and gave specific instructions aimed at their effective resolution.
Kamo Tsutsulyan emphasized the importance of enhancing technical capabilities as well as improving the professional and educational training of personnel, noting that steps taken in these areas will contribute to more efficient organization of rescue operations in the province to improve the quality of the service.
To enhance the ability to effectively respond to potential challenges, a headquarter exercise was conducted, simulating the actions of the civil defense leadership of Lori Regional Departments during a state of war.
The purpose of the exercise was to assess the operational response capabilities of the personnel and their ability to coordinate and cooperate effectively.
In the first phase of the two-stage exercise, the transition of the staff of governor operations to a wartime regime was simulated. The civil defense leadership and their respective functions were clarified.
In the second phase, an outdoor warning siren was issued followed by the organized sheltering of employees from a textile factory of Vanadzor.
Subsequently, rescue and emergency recovery operations were simulated in areas damaged as a result of the bombing.
Just a minute after receiving the emergency call about fire, they were already at the scene.
Through fire and rescue operations, as well as the use of appropriate technical equipment, the fire was extinguished in a short time, preventing its spread and any potential further results.
A key part of the exercise was the evacuation of the casualties from a high-rise building. Using specialized rope equipment, the rescuers successfully brought a casualty down from the upper floor, demonstrating their practical skills, coordinated teamwork and ability to respond quickly and effectively.
The exercise also involved personnel from the Police, Ambulance Service and emergency response teams from gas and electricity supply companies.
The exercise once again demonstrated that with proper coordination, well-trained personnel and effective cooperation, it is possible to withstand even the most challenging crises while ensuring the safety and protection of the population.
