On May 22, a command headquarters exercise on “Organization of population protection measures in case of a strong earthquake” was held in Artik community of Shirak province.

The employees of the Rescue Service and Police of Ministry of Internal Affairs, ambulance, regional and community services participated.

During the exercise, earthquake with the intensity of VII-VIII scenario was simulated, which was preceded by a working discussion on the measures to be taken.

During the practical events, the activities of extracting casualties from the rubble, extinguishing fires, extracting smoke-stricken and stuck people from buildings, providing first aid and other actions related to neutralizing the results of the disaster were simulated.

The participants of the exercise conducted the tasks set before them effectively and fully.

Such events provide an opportunity to coordinate the efforts of various services, as well as to reassess existing capabilities and enhance skills.
