On March 8, at 09:26 local time (GMT+4 hours) the Seismological Network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the MIA of RA registered an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 and 10 kilometers deep with the geographic coordinates 40.88⁰N latitude and 44.29⁰ E longitude on 6 km north- east from Spitak town of Armenia.

The intensity of the earthquake in the epicenter was VI-VII.

The earthquake was felt in Lori, Shirak and Tavush provinces with the intensity of VI-VI, in Kotayk, Gegharkunik and Aragatsotn provinces with the intensity of II-IV.
