On July 9, at 11:42 local time (GMT+4 hours) the Seismological Network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the MIA of RA registered an earthquake of magnitude 2.1 and 10 kilometers deep with the geographic coordinates 40․46⁰N latitude and 44․24⁰E longitude on 14 km southwest from Aparan town of the Republic of Armenia.

The intensity of the earthquake in the epicenter was II-III.

The earthquake was felt in Ashtarak town, in villages of Agarak, Byurakan, Karbi, Apnagyugh and Aragats villages of Aragatsotn province with a magnitude of II.
