On September 17, at 12:17 local time (GMT+4 hours) the Seismological Network of the Territorial Seismic Protection Service of the MIA of RA registered an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 and 10 kilometers deep with the geographic coordinates 40.48⁰ N latitude and 45.28⁰ E longitude on 3 km south-east from Shoghakat village of Armenia.

The intensity of the earthquake in the epicenter was III-IV.

The earthquake was felt in Shoghakat, Artanish, Drakhtik and Jil villages in Gegharkunik province with the intensity of II-III.
