Development of the volunteer rescue mobility in Armenia were discussed
The Director of RS- Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan received a delegation led by Eduard Trampusch, Head of the International Programs Department of the Austrian Red Cross. The meeting was also attended by the RS Deputy Directors.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development of the volunteer rescue mobility in Armenia, analyze the successes achieved and plan future steps.
Kamo Tsutsulyan highly appreciated the cooperation between the Austrian and Armenian Red Cross communities, especially highlighting the "Institutionalising a Volunteer First Responder Service in Armenia” (VolFire) program, launched in 2022 with the aim of developing the volunteer rescue mobility. The program is expected to conclude in 2026.
9 volunteer firefighter-rescue emergency points are already successfully operating and work is underway to establish 3 more emergency points within the framework of the program.
Eduard Trampusch highly appreciated the Rescue Service's efforts in developing the volunteer mobility. He noted that its promoting in the field of disaster management provides the opportunity for a quick, flexible, and effective response.
The sides discussed the planned steps within the program aimed at the institutionalization of the volunteer mobility in Armenia. They also discussed the technical re-equipment of volunteer emergency points and the establishment of new posts in remote communities.
The sides agreed to continue their cooperation in the development of the volunteer mobility in Armenia.
