On September 19, a demonstrative special tactical training on "Organization and implementation of search and rescue operations in rubble with fire” held at the unexploited building of the former house of culture in Amasia of Shirak province.

The training was led by Shirak Deputy Governor Albert Ayvazyan, and the head of the command headquarters was the Deputy Head of the Shirak Regional Rescue Department, r/s Lieutenant Colonel Arsen Adamyan.

Participants included personnel from the Shirak Regional Rescue Department of the RS of MIA of RA, the Amasia and Gyumri No. 2 Fire Rescue Squads and officers from the Shirak Regional Police Department, Representatives from the regional administration, local governance, health and social sectors of the Shirak Regional Governor’s Office were also present. Moreover, the employees from “Ghars" branch of "Electric Networks of Armenia" CJSC, "Shirak" operation site of "Veolia Water" CJSC, Shirak Branch of "Gazprom Armenia" CJSC and the leadership of the Amasia community administration were attended.

Highlighting the development of the practical skills of the forces responding in search and rescue operations and cooperation between the involved personnel, the participants carried out practical activities, according to the work sites particularly: reconnaissance of utility-technical networks, emergency shutdowns, fire and rescue reconnaissance, situation assessment, firefighting, search and rescue operations, emergency recovery activities, expansion of the sorting point, repair of utility-technical networks, providing first aid to the casualties and moving to an ambulance. 

Following the analysis of the results, shortcomings were noted and appropriate instructions were given.

The head of the command headquarters assessed the participants' performance as generally satisfactory, noting that they fulfilled their assigned duties.
