From March 24 to 28, by order of the Director of the Rescue Service - Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the heads and unit commanders of 10 groups of fire and rescue squads of Yerevan City Rescue Department participated in a training course on "Fundamentals of Gas and Carbon Protection Work During a Fire" at the Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Response Center.

The goal of the course is to train specialists for the correct and safe implementation of gas and carbon protection operations during a fire.

The course included not only theoretical but also practical parts. The participants studied the processes of fire and gas exchange development, the duties of a gas and carbon protector during fire extinguishing activities, the features of orientation in a smoke-covered zone, the sequence of reconnaissance activities in small and large areas, modern methods and technologies for conducting search and rescue operations in an environment unsuitable for breathing during a fire, with the complex use of specialized emergency rescue tools, equipment and gear, as well as the rules and methods of evacuating casualties.

At the end of the course, a final certification was held: participants received certificates.
