Cooperation in the field of response toradiological, chemical and biological threats will be expanded: the Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs received the U.S. delegation

On December 4 the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kamo Tsutsulyan met with a delegation led by, the Deputy Director of the U.S. European Command Plans, Policy, Strategy and Capability Directorate on security cooperation, proliferation, countermeasures, NATO issues Chris McKinney.

Highly appreciating the close cooperation, Armen Ghazaryan highlighted the need for continuous technical capabilities building of the personal of the Rescue Service in the field of responding to radiological, chemical and biological threats. He noted that the jointly implemented programs were received positive feedback and emphasized the importance of ensuring their continuity for the benefit of the common agenda.

Armen Kazaryan emphasized that, in terms of ensuring public safety, the interaction of state bodies, the proper allocation of resources and the use of modern technical solutions were of particular importance.

The Director of RS-Deputy Minister of IA Kamo Tsutsulyan, presenting the programs implemented within the framework of the reforms, touched upon the dynamics and prospective directions of cooperation with international partners. He noted that in order to respond more effectively to emergency situations, the Rescue Service was continuously improved its technical base and professional potential by conducting training sessions, practical exercises, as well as complex exercises in accordance with international standards with other departments.

In his speech, Chris McKinney noted analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of cooperation provided an opportunity to reassess priorities. He expressed his readiness to resume cooperation in the field of civil security with renewed momentum.

The delegates at the Rescue Service familiarized themselves with the technical equipment used in responding to radiological, chemical and biological threats. In particular, equipment for decontamination, reconnaissance devices, respiratory apparatus, vehicles and more were demonstrated.

Both parties expressed their readiness to continue joint programs aimed at enhancing public safety and reducing disaster risks.
