Cooperation between the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs and Kansas is being strengthened: a workshop was held

From January 22 to 24, a three-day workshop on disaster management capacity development took place, attended by the Director of the Rescue Service-Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, r/s Major General Kamo Tsutsulyan, as well as the Commander of the Kansas National Guard, Brigadier General Michael Venerdi. The workshop was also attended by experts from the U.S. Institute for Security and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other relevant agencies.
The RS Director, Kamo Tsutsulyan emphasized the importance of the close cooperation established with the state of Kansas, particularly highlighting its role in enhancing the capacities of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Michael Venerdi, expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, noted that such meetings serve as a crucial incentive for strengthening cooperation.
During the workshop, the key directions of disaster management strategy were discussed and the application of both local and American experience in the activity out was presented, along with the upcoming planned initiatives. Special attention was also given to crisis communication and awareness mechanisms, the modernization of early warning systems, disaster risk planning, and the use of GIS systems.
At the conclusion, commander of Kansas National Guard Michael Venerdi and the RS Director Kamo Tsutsulyan presented certificates to the workshop participants.
The three-day workshop was organized by the Office of Defense Cooperation of the U.S. Embassy.
The workshop once again underscored the importance of the strategic partnership established in Washington, particularly in the field of disaster management, contributing to experience exchange and strategy development.
