Comprehensive training program aimed at fire prevention and volunteer movement development

Rescue Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs continues its systematic and strategic approach aimed at reducing fire risks in forested and vegetated areas in Armenia.

In September 2025, training courses were organized and held in Shirak, Tavush and Lori provinces, which brought together a wide range of representatives of local self-government bodies, state agencies and environmental protection structures.

The main purpose of the training sessions was fire prevention, risk assessment, increasing rapid response capabilities, as well as the development of the volunteer movement in favor of strengthening community resilience and environmental security.

The training sessions were attended by employees of regional administrations and administrative heads of settlements, as well as representatives from the Eco-Patrol Service of the RA Ministry of Environment, “Hayantar” SNCO and the RA Nature Protection and Subsoil Inspection Body.

During the events, the issues of fire prevention, organization of rapid response, increasing the role of local self-government bodies, as well as the formation and development of the volunteer movement were discussed.

The vital importance of community involvement in the fight against fires was emphasized. Particularly importance was attached to increasing the level of preparedness of volunteers so that in case of emergency situations they could respond promptly and systematically, before the arrival of specialized rescue units.

Such steps not only prevent the spread of fires, but also strengthen community resilience.

Such events aim to form effective and sustainable cooperation between state and local structures, creating a unified system for responding to emergency situations.

The Rescue Service of the RA MIA will continue to expand the geography of training courses, increase professional training and promote community involvement as an important component of the volunteer movement development and fire prevention.
