Continuing the series of events dedicated to the World Civil Defense Day, the employees of the Tavush and Vayots Dzor Regional Rescue Departments of the Rescue Service of RA Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out various events aimed at raising civil defense awareness among the population.

In particular, special tactical training exercises on “In the event of an “Warning, evacuation, shelter in case of “Air-raid” warning siren” were held in the primary schools of the Lusadzor settlement of Ijevan community of Tavush province, the secondary schools of Chinari and Movses settlements of Berd community, kindergartens No. 1 of Dilijan town and Noyemberyan town, as well as in the secondary schools of Vernashen, Arin, Bardzruni, Jermuk No. 1 basic schools of Vayots Dzor province and collage of Yeghegnadzor.

At the same time, lectures and seminar-training sessions were organized and held in Tavush province at No. 1 and No. 4 schools in Ijevan town, No. 1 Basic School in Berd town, No. 2 Basic and No. 5 Secondary schools in Dilijan town, Vayots Dzor community schools in Voskevan and Baghanis, Tavush village secondary school in Berd community, the "Tavush Patrick Devecian Regional College" foundation, and the YSU Ijevan branch. Additionnaly, similar events took place at the Jermuk Educational Complex, Areni Secondary School and Vayk Basic School in Vayots Dzor province.

The topics of the sessions included "The Importance of World Civil Protection Day", "Civil Protection Sirens and Protective Structures", "First Aid for Fragmentation Injuries" and "Evacuation Organization in case of “Air-raid” warning siren".

As part of the awareness-raising activities in the provinces, thematic flyers were distributed to participants, outlining behavior codes in emergency situations, with the goal of increasing public awareness and preparedness.
