When a human life hangs in the balance, every second can be decisive. The moment an emergency call was received, the rescuers began their mission: it was essential not only to arrive in time but also to accurately assess the situation and act with precision and coordination.

In this demanding line of work, Sevak Stepanyan, as a member of the Chambarak Fire and Rescue Squad, distinguished himself through his professional skills and dedication to service. He was named the Best Rescuer of 2025.

Sevak applied his professional skills in a number of complex rescue operations, where coordinated teamwork was also of particular importance. Among them were the search and rescue operations following a gas explosion at Building 4 on Tigran Mets Street in Chambarak. Sevak worked there alongside around 230 rescue service personnel and police officers.

According to the squad commander, Sevak was distinguished by his conscientious service. He was proactive, consistent and demanding of himself in his work. Being recognized as the best was also a testament to this daily work that often took place behind the scenes and outside the frame of the camera.

Today, Sevak is forging his own path in the profession he chose, following the example of his father the former rescuer Nahapet Stepanyan. Being recognized as the best is a source of pride for his father, while for Sevak, it serves as a new impetus to live up to the trust placed in him and to keep moving forward. A new shift lies ahead, carrying the same sense of responsibility and an unwavering goal: to rush in time to help and to do everything possible to save lives.
