As announced, the services subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs implemented enhanced service throughout the Republic during the holidays. The rescuers and police officers ensured public order and the safety of road users, pulled stuck vehicles out and provided appropriate assistance to citizens.

The Rescue Service was provided enhanced service in a 24/7 mode.

In order to provide assistance to citizens, patrols were conducted on the roads of the Republic and a duty was established.

The rescuers pulled stuck 428 vehicles out due to heavy snowfall and provided appropriate assistance to 845 citizens.

Simultaneously, from January 1 to 7, patrol officers in the Republic inspected 9,035 vehicles, 261 of which had summer tires and 298 had winter tires that did not meet the established standards. Administrative action was taken against the drivers of all the mentioned vehicles.

During the holidays, 417 drivers were also found to be intoxicated and their vehicles were moved to special protected areas.

During the same period, 810 road traffic accidents occurred, 310 of which were in Yerevan and 500 in the provinces. 52 protocols on administrative violations were drawn up after inspecting 1,592 vehicles involved in the accidents. Based on the mentioned, only 37 vehicles had summer tires and 16 had winter tires that did not meet the standards.

This shown that as a result of both regular awareness by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the administration of the Patrol Service, drivers was generally demonstrated responsible behavior by replacing tires within the specified time frame.

The Rescue Service and Police officers also cooperated with local government bodies and provided information to their colleagues about the existing ice and the need for cleaning activities.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs urges everyone to follow traffic rules and drive vehicles exclusively with winter tires.
