Armenian rescuers participated in an international training course
The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia participated in an international training course in Moscow on the application of the United Nations INSARAG Group Coordination and Management Systems (ICMS).
The training was held at the Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia and involved participants from Armenia, Iran, Belarus, Russia, China, Jordan, Malaysia, the UAE and Oman.
Armenia also presented a specialist with the status of a trainer within the framework of the international training.
The goal of the training according to UN INSARAG international standards was to train participants in the use of the ICMS system, which allowed for the rapid transmission of data from the scene to coordination centers in emergency situations using smartphones and similar devices. This process significantly contributes to the effective coordination of search and rescue operations of teams during international missions, rapid decision-making and optimal allocation of resources. The specifics of the practical application of ICMS, methods of information flow management and the experience of INSARAG COP teams in coordination were also discussed.
The ICMS international training was an important contribution to the development of the capabilities of rescue units, deepening international cooperation and ensuring an effective and coordinated response during emergency situations.
