On August 9, at 18։39 an emergency call was received to Gegharkunik Regional Crisis Management Center that hayrick had been on fire on Barekamutyan Street in Akunk village.

Two fire units from the Fire and Rescue Squad of Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of the MIA of RA dispatched to the scene.

The fire was localized at 19:11 and extinguished at 22:40. About 700 bales of hay in the yard of a house on Barekamutyan Street were burnt.
